Our Philosophy
You may have noticed our stylized Ganesha logo. Ganesha is a Hindu deity also known as the “Remover of Obstacles,” “Lord of Beginnings” and “Patron of Letters.” Since we believe in the transformative power of writing, he seemed a perfect symbol for our philosophy. “Pinchback” is borrowed from the gardening lexicon; much like the process of revision, one must “pinchback” new growth to encourage fuller plants.

“After completing a college writing program, I found [Cara & Shawna's workshop] to be an excellent follow-up to continue crafting my skills.  The feedback from the instructors was very detailed giving both positive and constructive feedback.  I enjoyed working with both.  I am looking forward to additional classes with [them].”
